After almost a decade of supplying paint to several thousand events and helping literally millions of people enjoy those events, we have learned quite a bit. We’ll be happy to pass that on to you so your event is the best it can be. Once we know what type of event you thowing we’ll be able to give you the do's and don’ts and make recommendations concerning paint type, color and the quantities you’ll need.

Here we're going to discuss paint parties at fraternaties, night clubs, and festivals which are of the most common events.

THROWING A FRAT PARTY/PAINT PARTY/BAR & NIGHTCLUB EVENT PARTY.

A. How Many People Are Attending? For a standard party of 3 hrs of paint, we recommend using a calculation of 1 unit of 5 gallons for every 50 people. This number seems to work really well for the above party types so you can use that as a guide and go up or down based on budget size and projections of crowd size. We have even created a FRAT PACK to simplify your order if you have 200-300 people and you can order that (Click Here).

B. Is Your Event Indoors or Outdoors? This can help in determining the paint type that beuv glow party at festivalst suits your needs. We always recommend using our Washable paints (just mentioned above) for indoors for easier clean up but some event planners want the brightest paint possible as they would rather have a paint that will show up more opaque on skin and/or clothes. People like to use our UV effects for some general body designs and to create memorable white T-shits as UV effects will leave stains, as it is much higher in pigment loading. So if your event is indoors, use the Washable. If it is outdoors, you can use either the Washable if you are concerned about easy clean up or the UV effects if you want the brightest paint and don’t care about staining. (Please note that UV effects will come off skin and hair with just dawn dish soap and water).

C. How Long is Your Event? Normal events using paint last about 3 hrs. However, some events go all day and night or several hours and in that case we recommend buying 1 unit of 5 gallon for every 50 people every 3 hrs and use that ratio to buy more if needed. (Example: 500 people for 6 hrs would be 20 units of 5 Gallon Neon Paint)

D. Crowd Participation? Are you going to have a few people shooting the paint or are you going to get the crowd involved? We have 16oz bottles of our Washable Neon Paints which make great add-ons or upsells for profit or charity events. Many customers will buy the 5 gallon pails and have 4 people or more control the splash targets and they sell the 16oz bottles so people can squirt some paint as well. We even offer splash caps that when used in conjunction can make our bottles high powered squirting devices that will shoot about 30 ft. Again we only recommend the washable for squirting indoors. .

E. Stage or No Stage? Are you going to have a stage? A band? DJ? If your event has any of these, please consider protecting the equipment. uv glow stage event You can get cheap rolls of plastic at Home Depot or Lowes and protecting speakers and other electronic devices is a very good idea. In addition, If you are shooting from a stage set up a small barrier between the stage and the crowd to prevent people from touching the paint or equipment. Also when you are shooting paint it is best to have a little arch and some distance as you don’t want to blast someone from too close. Most people who use a stage will have 3-4 people squirt the paint on the crowd. However, if there is no stage consider the 4 corners of the selected area and use 3-4 corners as designated area where paint can be shot from. .

F. Disclosures: You should let the people attending your event that the paint is non-toxic water-based and has passed ASTMD-4236 safety standards. However, there are a super small percentage of people in the world that are allergic to preservatives. We use the same preservative that is used in most shampoos. Nonetheless, it is still appropriate to inform everyone and let them know they can do a small test with the paint if they have any concerns. People, who have dry or sensitive skin, may experience temporary staining or mild irritation. If any irritation occurs, wash off with soap and water immediately. .

G. Don’t Run Out… We always recommend error on the side of caution meaning better to purchase a little more than not enough. Just in case you purchase too much, the paint will last several years if unopened and stored in a cool dry place out of the sun. It can last for many months and perhaps even a year if you store is properly. Read Set Up Clean Up instruction sheet (Click Here). .

H. HAVE A BLAST! If you are using high powered cannons, water cannon guns, balloons, or your own device, throwingpaintparty please remember that while the paint is safe, it is not ever safe to blast water at high speeds into someone eyes. Therefore inform the controlled shooters to try to get some loft in the paint stream and don’t shoot anyone with the water cannon guns unless they are at least 10ft away and much further away for high-powered devices. .

I. Clean Up. Make sure you have a good clean up plan. We have actually created a form you to take with you and can review in PDF format now or print out. You should review this before hosting your event and soon after it is over. (Click Here). Basically, know exactly how your going to clean before you begin and take precautions in advance by putting plastic over sensitive areas. .
